Midnight 5k

Last night we ran the midnight 5k!

First, lets reminisce about last year.......

Oh I miss these girls very much. One's in Russia, one's in Washington, one's in Hawaii, and Haley was there (not pictured) and now she's living in Texas and is going to have a baby in a month! But this year was great too. See....

Our wonderful cheerleaders! They drove beside us the whole way blasting music

Coolest shirt ever! "If you lead a good life, say your prayers, and go to church, when you die, you will go to Idaho." Thanks mom.

Guitars Unplugged!

So here it is. I finally fulfilled my dream of performing at Guitars Unplugged. It has seriously been something I've wanted to do since the first time I saw this show. And now I have done it!

It was so awesome. We were the second band to play and at first I was really nervous as I saw all the people coming in (there was probably about 3,000-4,000 people there!). But then the show started and while I was standing backstage getting prepped with my mic and stuff they started with a huge light show, and the crowd was going wild! Then I got really pumped and excited to go! I loved it so much, I can't even tell you.....

Anyway, here's the video of us. My roommate got scared to really film it because they told the crowd not to film, so she pointed it down so you can hear us. And at the end you can see the whole stage and stuff, it's pretty cool. So..enjoy!

This weekend I sang in my first show! It was so fun. I found this band that I think I might continue singing with. We had a show last night off campus and next week we have another show, playing one song, for Guitars Unplugged on campus. It is a blast, these boys are really fun and talented!

I just learned all of these songs (5 of them) either on Thursday or Saturday right before the show.

Here's a video of one of the songs, Burnin', that we performed. This one is one of my favorite songs! I love the country/bluesy feeling to it, plus I get a solo :)I'm sorry that the harmony sounds so off. I swear it wasn't like that live, but maybe it was. Some of the notes just make me cringe. The main singer wrote all of the songs that we performed. They're really fun.

Also, I was privileged enough to have my mom, Anna Sophia, and Grandma and Grandpa come up and visit/watch me!

Anna Sophia had no idea what she was doing in this picture. Some people put her up to it and I thought it was so funny, hence my eyes being closed in laughter...

My First Canning Experience

Tacy, Jane, and I went canning today. It's amazing how efficient the church is, I loved seeing how it worked. It's good to know that if I'm ever in trouble I will be taken care off.

Here are some highlights:

My canning attire

I got to beat this box with a metal stick. That was fun.

I was working and one of the guys who worked there randomly pulled me into this little room and told me to eat something. There was soup, bread, and doughnuts. Turns out I was the only one who got to do that. Everyone else was jealous, but I was fed! Yummy cannery soup.

Valentine's Day Weekend

This weekend was fun!!! I'll just sum it up with pictures.

We made our own sushi! We had a friend come over who served his mission in Taiwan and was really good at making sushi. It was a blast and turned out to be really delicious!

Then for Valentine's day we went to dinner with our FHE brothers. We each drew a name to be our "secret valentine" and got a little gift for them, then we exchanged our gifts at dinner. It was a ton of fun, we have great friends out here!

I got Justin a Curious George chair. He loved it.

All in all it was another very fun weekend at BYU-Idaho!!

Two blog updates in one week? Who ever thought you'd be so lucky?

Tonight was Nashville Nights, and my friend Trevor and I performed! It was way fun. We sang a Dixie Chicks song but I changed it up into a mushy love duet. And mom, despite all your hopes and dreams, Trevor has a girlfriend, so our relationship is purely professional. Anyway....Here are some of the highlights:

Colby and Lydia made Nashville Nights into a date and before they came to the show they made this for me! Isn't it fantastic?? Too bad I couldn't see a thing in the audience.

Here's the whole thing. Awesome.

After the show we found a dance room and played in it for a while. We had a really good time!

Then we went back to my apartment and made scones and watched a movie. All in all it was a very fun weekend!

Tacy, Trevor, and whoever else harassed me about my blog, here you go. I am officially updating it!

So things have been really great. Last weekend we went sledding at the sand dunes and it was so epic. The hills were awesome, the people were great, and we had a really fun time! It was a ward activity and somehow only like 7 girls showed up, and out of those seven only 4 really did anything. You guessed it, those 4 were my roommates and me. Maybe that's why we had such a great time. Here are some highlights.

Sand Dunes= Massive hills!

We went dumpster diving before and got some cardboard boxes to slide down

The boys all decided to get as many people they could on one tube. 12 people.

It was hilarious but inevitably someone got hurt and sprained his shoulder. But some would say it was worth it!

The hill we chose was massive and kind of dipped down like a toilet bowl. The funnest part of sledding down was going up the wall and down again. This sled was FAST, Michelle and I weren't even expecting such speed. Michelle was screaming "Why are we going so fast?" the whole way down. It was way fun though.

Last night I had to do an art project for one of my classes.

Don't you wish your major was fun like mine?
