I am so bad at updating my blog. So i'll start from square one, I started this entry, oh, about a month ago. But I think it's too good just to skip over. Wayyy too good. Sooo...this is originally from about November 21. Oooh good times.

Such a good weekend! This entry will pretty much be all about the Coldplay concert. Okay..

COLDPLAY= AMAZING!!!! I can't even explain how good it was. It was the best concert i've ever been to...it even topped Keith Urban. And that takes a lot...

So we got there and I was kind of like what in the heck. Why did I pay so much money for seats that are totally not good. And I was kind of like ooh man if I didn't have these tickets i'd be $116 richer. But I decided whatever, I'm here so I might as well enjoy it.

Then the show started. From the very beginning I was like HOLY COW this is so incredible, this concert was definitely worth the money. Their music was soo amazing live, even better then their album. I got goosebumps every ten seconds. Words can't even describe how good it was.

So then they were playing up on the main stage and Lydia and I noticed that behind us there was a sound guy setting up guitars and microphones. RIGHT behind us. So...I just about started freaking out, because I knew that within minutes Coldplay was going to be about 4 feet away from us. My heart.

They finished their song and soon enough they were running through the audience, up to where I was!!! So they came up and they played two songs, right there, up close and personal. I about died, I loved it and I'm pretty sure they loved me. When they got up to the stage they said "Wow, there are a lot of babes in Salt Lake" ooooh yeah.

Here are some pictures.

Obviously I've lost some enthusiasm on the subject. Oh well.

Ooooh what a good week this has been! Wow, I don't even know where to start. Okay, I'll just go day by day.
Monday we carved pumpkins for FHE, it was pretty sweet. Kaitlin and I carved ours together, it turned out nice. Wednesday I went over to the Hazards and carved pumpkins with all of them. That was so much fun!
My pumpkin was rotten in the middle but I was tough and dug out all the guts and carved it anyway (I paid 5 bucks for that thing!). Everyone finished their pumpkings pretty quick, mine took forever to finish. I think I took about 2 hours, but in my opinion it turned out amazing! The day after I carved it my pumpkin caved in on itself and never even got to see Halloween. Oh well.

Thursday night I had another soccer game, the first game of the Tournament. It was against the Knights and it was a good game! We won, I honestly can't remember what the score was but it was a good competition. It brought us one step closer to the championship game!! It was perfect soccer weather and I love playing with my team! They are so awesome. My friend Scott came to watch me play and so did Kaitlin, so they hung out on the sidelines and I joined them when I wasn't playing.

So Thursday was fantastic....Friday came and of course that was Halloween!!! It was kind of an up in the air kind of night, we just skipped from party to party. But we started out the evening with eating pumpkin stew at the Hazards. I was a little nervous but it was actually really good! Nancy dug out the insides of a pumpkin and cooked the stew in the oven IN the pumpkin. It was really fancy and the pieces of pumpkin were delicious! We ate on the floor in the kitchen by the light of two candles, it was very spooky. And of course the occasional trick-or-treater would come and Colby would get a mask on and scare the bejeezes out of them. Poor kids!
After dinner we all got together and played a little Nintendo 64 Mario Kart. That was fun, I'm a little rusty though. Then we got all dressed up in our costumes. Kaitlin was a "dare devil" and wore the devil horns with bandaids and stuff. Very creative. Colby wore a wig and he was a "reject BYU-I student". Good one haha. And for my costume I decided to be a polygamist. I found the best dress for it and my hair was poofed sky high (the higher the hair the closer to Heaven). In my mind I knew that I should've been wearing running shoes with my dress but I just couldn't get myself to do it. So I just stuck with wearing normal shoes. Here are some pics!

After we partied it up we went back to my apartment and watched Mothman Prophesies. Scary movie! I wasn't really scared after but it made me have horrible dreams all night so I didn't really sleep very well. But I guess it shook Colby up a bit, haha! Kaitlin said that when I dropped them off after the movie the front door was locked and Colby freaked out and then slept on the floor in Kaitlin and Court's room. Funny. It's alright, it was a scary movie! I watched I am Legend for the first time on Saturday night, that one was way good but kind of creepy and scary too. I really liked it though.

Saturday morning my team had our second soccer game of the tournament against the Hawks. I guess you could say that the Hawks were our rivalry, they were the number one ranked team until we beat them last week (shut them out at 3-0). They were undefeated before we played them. It was a really, really intense and competitive game. The atmosphere was just filled with anger, you could tell that we all wanted to beat eachother. I think the Hawks just weren't used to having a lot of competition, and we definitely gave them a run for their money. My old roommate Mary was on the Hawks team so it was good to see her again.

But anyway, they were our first game. If we lost that game then our season would be over, and we didn't want that! So we played our guts out and played with real heart and in the end the game was tied 3-3! We had to go into overtime and that was so nerve racking. The refs told us that we would just play until the first goal scored, so when our team scored first we all ran together and dog piled on the field. Turned out that it was a miscommunication and that we had to play two complete 10 minute halves. So we regathered ourselves and beat them fair and square.

My team getting pumped for the second half

So after we won our first game we had about two hours to recover and play our next game, the game for the championship!! We were so excited to have made it so far, because looking back on our season we actually lost a lot of games. But we're a good team so we were happy to show that and to show our skills. We were all so exhausted from the first game; the other team had a game that morning too but they didn't go into overtime so they had a slight advantage because they weren't as worn out and they had more time to rest.

The game was so slow moving. Everyone was so tired, but in the end we won again and became the champion team of all BYU-I women's soccer!! When the whistle for the end of the game blew we didn't even have enough energy to run together and be excited, we all sort of walked off the field with smiles on our faces, high-fived eachother, took pictures, and pretty much collapsed. It was a very well deserved victory! Go Vikings!

We are the Champions!!!

It's hard to believe that about a year ago we lost our dear cousin, sister, neice, daughter, and friend. One year ago Jenna and her twin sister Tessa got in a deadly accident that put Jenna in a coma and took her life one week later. But thankfully we know that families are forever and that this separation won't be forever.

What Is This Thing That Men Call Death?
What is this thing that men call death,
This quiet passing in the night?
‘Tis not the end but genesis
Of better worlds and greater light.
O God, touch Thou my aching heart,
And calm my troubled, haunting fears.
Let hope and faith, transcendent, pure,
Give strength and peace beyond my tears.
There is no death, but only change,
With recompense for victory won.
The gift of Him who loved all men,
The Son of God, the Holy One.
-Gordon Bitner Hinckley

I'm grateful for the knowledge and testimony I have of eternal families and for the opportunity to have known Jenna even for her short 17 years. But what I love most is just remembering the good times!

Each life that touches ours for good
Reflects thine own great mercy, Lord.
Thou sendest blessings from above
Through words and deeds of those who love.
What greater gift dost thou bestow,
What greater goodness can we know
Than Christ-like friends, whose gentle ways
Strengthen our faith, enrich our days.
When such a friend from us departs
We hold forever in our hearts
A sweet and hallowed memory,
Bringing us nearer, Lord, to thee.
For worthy friends whose lives proclaim
Devotion to the Savior's name,
Who bless our days with peace and love,
We praise thy goodness Lord above.

First off I need to give my mother some happy news and show everyone this:

The Bishopric is pleased to declare Sadie Hawkins in 13th Ward until November 1st! That means Sisters, this is your chance to ask a Brother in the ward on a date.
Sisters -- Show the brethren how it ought to be done--fun and inexpensive! We challenge EVERY sister in the ward to go on a date with a brother in the ward by November 1st.
Brethren -- Show the sisters how to say "yes" and how to be a fun date.
We hope you'll have lots of fun with this! Paying for these dates is negotiable, but brethren, we encourage you to step up. And everybody please remember -- going on a date is NOT a long-term commitment, it's just a chance to spend a few hours having fun.
One last reminder: A date means 1) planned, 2) paid for, and 3) paired-off. Double and triple dates are perfectly fine. Informal group hanging-out does not count.

Yes, that's right, our Bishopric has asked all of the girls to ask our ward boys out this month. When the 2nd counselor of the bishopric announced it in Relief Society we all seriously thought it was a joke. But yeah....it so isn't. Don't worry, I've already got my date lined up (High School Musical on Friday night, oooh yeah!). Just thought I'd share that....here's to BYU-Idaho!

Anyway...this weekend was pretty fun!!

Friday night Lydia and I went and rented Singing in the Rain and drank hot chocolate while we watched it. We're just living the life......Then on Saturday night I had a date and we went to Guitars Unplugged and it was a way good show, and a fun date. We'll see what happens with that....

Saturday morning I had a soccer game and we totally lost. Oh man it was a rough game, four of our best players weren't there and then two of our other best players got taken out of the game, one with a concussion and the other with a sprained ankle. My roommate tried to get some pictures, but here's what came out...

So...I know it's not that great of a picture but it shows off my soccer legs :) haha

Yes, look at me go!

Sweet action shot here

So in other news........

Colby's here!!!!!! It's so good to see him home and healthy and just the same old colby. Today we gathered around him and sang primary songs as he played the guitar. And even more exciting is that Kaitlin's coming up this week! We're going to have a lot of cousins up here and it's gonna be the BOMB!

It's midterms this week! Wish me luck on all of my exams! Have a good one!!!
