This weekend I sang in my first show! It was so fun. I found this band that I think I might continue singing with. We had a show last night off campus and next week we have another show, playing one song, for Guitars Unplugged on campus. It is a blast, these boys are really fun and talented!

I just learned all of these songs (5 of them) either on Thursday or Saturday right before the show.

Here's a video of one of the songs, Burnin', that we performed. This one is one of my favorite songs! I love the country/bluesy feeling to it, plus I get a solo :)I'm sorry that the harmony sounds so off. I swear it wasn't like that live, but maybe it was. Some of the notes just make me cringe. The main singer wrote all of the songs that we performed. They're really fun.

Also, I was privileged enough to have my mom, Anna Sophia, and Grandma and Grandpa come up and visit/watch me!

Anna Sophia had no idea what she was doing in this picture. Some people put her up to it and I thought it was so funny, hence my eyes being closed in laughter...

My First Canning Experience

Tacy, Jane, and I went canning today. It's amazing how efficient the church is, I loved seeing how it worked. It's good to know that if I'm ever in trouble I will be taken care off.

Here are some highlights:

I got to beat this box with a metal stick. That was fun.

I was working and one of the guys who worked there randomly pulled me into this little room and told me to eat something. There was soup, bread, and doughnuts. Turns out I was the only one who got to do that. Everyone else was jealous, but I was fed! Yummy cannery soup.

Valentine's Day Weekend

This weekend was fun!!! I'll just sum it up with pictures.

We made our own sushi! We had a friend come over who served his mission in Taiwan and was really good at making sushi. It was a blast and turned out to be really delicious!

Then for Valentine's day we went to dinner with our FHE brothers. We each drew a name to be our "secret valentine" and got a little gift for them, then we exchanged our gifts at dinner. It was a ton of fun, we have great friends out here!

I got Justin a Curious George chair. He loved it.

All in all it was another very fun weekend at BYU-Idaho!!

Two blog updates in one week? Who ever thought you'd be so lucky?

Tonight was Nashville Nights, and my friend Trevor and I performed! It was way fun. We sang a Dixie Chicks song but I changed it up into a mushy love duet. And mom, despite all your hopes and dreams, Trevor has a girlfriend, so our relationship is purely professional. Anyway....Here are some of the highlights:

Colby and Lydia made Nashville Nights into a date and before they came to the show they made this for me! Isn't it fantastic?? Too bad I couldn't see a thing in the audience.

Here's the whole thing. Awesome.

After the show we found a dance room and played in it for a while. We had a really good time!

Then we went back to my apartment and made scones and watched a movie. All in all it was a very fun weekend!

Tacy, Trevor, and whoever else harassed me about my blog, here you go. I am officially updating it!

So things have been really great. Last weekend we went sledding at the sand dunes and it was so epic. The hills were awesome, the people were great, and we had a really fun time! It was a ward activity and somehow only like 7 girls showed up, and out of those seven only 4 really did anything. You guessed it, those 4 were my roommates and me. Maybe that's why we had such a great time. Here are some highlights.

Sand Dunes= Massive hills!

We went dumpster diving before and got some cardboard boxes to slide down

The boys all decided to get as many people they could on one tube. 12 people.

It was hilarious but inevitably someone got hurt and sprained his shoulder. But some would say it was worth it!

The hill we chose was massive and kind of dipped down like a toilet bowl. The funnest part of sledding down was going up the wall and down again. This sled was FAST, Michelle and I weren't even expecting such speed. Michelle was screaming "Why are we going so fast?" the whole way down. It was way fun though.

Last night I had to do an art project for one of my classes.

Don't you wish your major was fun like mine?

My weekend went like this:

Late night Ramirez run after the comedy improv show, which was HILARIOUS. "You can't take that away from me"

An epic snow pile in Rexburg. This is nothing though.

Sunday breakfast at the Hazards

Nauvoo Temple Model. Yeah Keli!

And now on to Winter 2009

I'm back, and Rexburg has welcomed me with open arms. Ah...isn't she inviting?

The trip up here was very adventurous and interesting. The plan was for us to leave on Monday and I was going to caravan with my roommates Lydia and Michelle. We were going to leave early in the morning but Michelle's car broke down on the way to my house. So I stayed with her to make sure everything got worked out. Lydia continued to Rexburg but Michelle and I received the news that her car would be out of working condition for about two weeks. So we had the fun task of taking everything out of her car (I have no idea how she packed it so full!) and transferring it to my house, and then transferring what would fit into my car.

The Denali to the rescue!

I have no idea how we fit so much stuff in that car!

So then we got home and transferred everything into my car. Poor little Vicky was PACKED. To the brim. Like there were clothes stuffed into every crevice. Ha what a good little car. Then I went to start it....and she wouldn't start! It was a let down to say the least. But we got it jump started that night and thankfully it started again in the morning. We went to Walmart the next morning before heading off to Rexburg to buy a new car battery and of course they didn't have my car's battery. So....that was fantastic. But we had them check and see if my battery even needed to be replaced, and it didn't. So that was good. Then we were off!!

The roads were AWFUL. It was super scary driving. But Michelle was a good passenger and I was able to stay pretty relaxed. It just got intense in a few spots, especially since I couldn't see out my back window or my blind spots. And the car was so heavy.

Here's a little piece of what the roads looked like. Scary!

But we we were very grateful to arrive safely with enough time to move our stuff in, get books, and run to the store quickly. But poor Vicky, she's so dirty now. My snowboard rack froze shut, I had to chip at the ice for 5 minutes to get it undone. But I am happy to have a good car that works and is trustworthy...for the most part.
